Viewers heard Bobby Heenan's shouting before he burst onto their screens. This seems to be the most apt way to introduce a true legend of the business and an icon who radiated a natural charisma. After over-selling McMichael's hand buzz trick, Heenan did his perfected weasel act to absolve himself of the trash that left his lips backstage.

Heenan remains one of (if not the) greatest managers in sports entertainment history, providing the blueprint for everyone who came after him. He officially retired from the industry at WrestleMania X-Seven, but made some brief cameo appearances after.

From 2002, Heenan battled against throat cancer, until complications related to the condition brought on the organ failure that would take his life on 18 September 2017.
