Dreamer barely featured during the Invasion angle, only really being involved in segments or multi-man matches. After the Invasion, he was sent to farm system HWA and was called up to the Raw roster in spring 2002. After a short but miserable spell with a gimmick that saw him drink tobacco spit, eat food off the floor and do other disgusting acts, he went back to being plain old Tommy Dreamer: innovator of violence. He was booked less and less over the next couple of years and moved to a backstage role, all-but retiring form in-ring competition. That changed when ECW was brought back as its own brand. Dreamer played a big role on that show and won the ECW Title. He left WWE in 2010 and wrestled for TNA on and off until 2014, as well as regularly performing on indie shows. But Dreamer doesn't just work on indie shows. Oh no, he also runs them himself. His House of Hardcore promotion has been running shows since 2012, using a mix of ex-ECW and WWE talent and indie stars.
