Last night's AEW Dynamite was a highly emotional affair headlined by Cody's heavily-promoted steel cage war with Wardlow, who bloodied 'The American Nightmare' within minutes and dominated much of the bout, but eventually fell when Cody hit a spectacular Moonsault from atop the high-walled cage.

A big, cathartic moment to cap an old-school, territory-style war, and while Dynamite went off the air with Cody stood atop the cage, 'The Nightmare' grabbed the stick and spoke to the live crowd afterwards.

AEW has uploaded the promo to their YouTube channel:-

The interview was as heartfelt as you'd expect from Cody, and even more so because he was spitting it in Atlanta. The Four Horsemen famously broke his father's leg inside a steel cage in this very city. Cody referenced this in the promo, with the little side-eye he gave Arn Anderson a nice touch.

It sounds like the dark segment went over huge with the live crowd as well. Twitter user and Sportskeeda writer Greg Bush was in the building:-

Great stuff all-round. The Cody/MJF programme is on fire at the moment, with the cage match the latest successful chapter in this gripping long-form story.
