What If Brock Lesnar Joined AEW

5. The Bastard Vs. The Beast

Okay, enough messing around. The time has come for things to take a turn for the serious. Brock has run through Team Taz, mingled with The Dark Order and put Cody on the shelf. All harmless fun with a sprinkling of violence on the side, but not what was expected from Brock Lesnar in AEW.

Lesnar's best matches have always been against smaller opponents, allowing Brock to play his beast role to perfection as the bumping machine works from underneath. His matches with Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, AJ Styles and Finn Bálor were all utterly fantastic, almost old-school pro wrestling that sucked viewers in and left them wanting more. The matches with Ricochet and Kofi Kingston are best left forgotten, but you get the point.

The good news for AEW fans is that the promotion is home to the best short-ish professional wrestler in the world, one of the best on the planet of all sizes. 'The Bastard' PAC is a legitimately elite talent, and a match between Brock and The Bastard would be riveting viewing. It would also represent the first real test of Brock's AEW career, setting him up for the next stage of it.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
