What If... Roman Reigns NEVER Turned Heel In WWE
In the time that followed the arrival of this new 'Tribal Chief' villain, Roman began engaging in an increasingly gripping family feud with his cousin Jey Uso. Horrendously manipulating his 'Right Hand Man' and bullying him over the coming months, the pair clashed in Universal title bouts that would later be described as pure "cinema".
Whether you were a fan of melodramatic monologuing and the drawn-out wars or not, there was no denying that this was something different. And that "different" was planting the seeds for a deeply compelling long-term story that is still being told today - one that has unquestionably thrown out more hits than misses over the last four years.
With no heel Roman dominating his family and eventually unleashing the Bloodline on his enemies then, the likes of Jimmy and Jey Uso would likely not have been given the space to breathe as individual performers.
Those wonderful little exchanges backstage with and about their 'Head of the Table' - Jey's inner turmoil, Jimmy's initial refusal to fall in line - helped the brothers flourish on SmackDown and eventually become easily the most interesting tag champs of the last five years. They'd even carry those belts into the main event of 'The Show of Shows', with 'Mania 39 being the first time that had ever been done.
It's hard to imagine any of that being possible with those two super talented lads just acting as babyface Roman's two-dimensional sidekicks. Instead, they likely would have continued stealing the occasional show in doubles action and regularly being mistaken for the other twin, sadly.
Without Heyman by his side and perhaps not becoming the level of star he is today after no epic heel switch, it's unlikely Roman would have possessed the same degree of creative control he has for much of the Bloodline run, too.
So, you can almost guarantee he would have spent less time engaging in civil wars, and more on vanquishing moustache twirling baddies as the company continued to cram that unwanted protagonist down fans' throats.
Pulsating Civil War showdowns in London, entirely shocking Saudi and SmackDown superkicks, and enough iconic Moments to fill hours of WWE highlight packages - none of that probably goes down with a squeaky clean Roman still reigning.
And if Roman wasn't given that freedom to explore his own and utterly intriguing family affairs, all while holding the top belt, then a number of massive developments for other much-loved figures would have likely never seen the light of day...
