What If WWE WrestleMania Was Always 2 Nights?

16. WrestleMania 20

On paper, without context, WrestleMania XX looks like Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar with Stone Cold Steve Austin as the special guest referee is the biggest match of the show. However, with both of them leaving the company, the quality of the match we saw, and the reception from the crowd at Madison Square Garden, that definitely wouldn't have been the case.

Chris Benoit beats Triple H and Shawn Michaels in a Triple Threat main event to end the show as-is, but the real finale is having Benoit celebrate in the ring with his friend, Eddie Guerrero, both holding up the two World titles.

That means Guerrero defending the WWE Championship against Kurt Angle would have been the first night's main event, with a traditional setup of the two top prizes in the company headlining each night, babyfaces going over, and the fans beaming with joy. After all, putting smiles on faces was always supposed to be one of WWE's missions, and that's what the eternally fascinating WrestleMania should be about more than anything else.
