What They Did Next: WWE 2021 Releases - Part 1
10. Mojo Rawley
If there's one word that can easily describe Mojo Rawley, it's overshadowed. The formation of the Hype Bros, perhaps his best shot at making something of himself in the WWE, was eclipsed by the moment no wrestling fan thought could happen when Samoa Joe made his debut in NXT.
On the main roster he was ignored unless WWE could secure an appearance by real-life friend and massive NFL star Rob Gronkowski. Mojo was often lost in the pack, sometimes literally as he was regularly seen chasing down whoever held the 24/7 Championship.
With decent presentation, Mojo could have been a solid mid-card performer for years to come. So WWE made him live in a mirror and paint a blue crack across his face for... did we ever even get a reason for that? Overshadowed even by his own reflection, Rawley was last seen on SmackDown Live in June 2020. Ten long months later, when WWE remembered he existed, he was released from his contract.
Rawley is pursuing an acting career and was recently seen as a nameless streetfighter in the GI Joe origins movie, Snake Eyes.
