What They Did Next: WWE 2021 Releases - Part 1
9. Lars Sullivan
Believe it or not, there was a time when Lars Sullivan seemed like the next big thing. A heel who destroyed his tag team partners whenever they lost and worked squash handicap matches, Sullivan only suffered one pinfall loss in his NXT tenure and had been built up as a true monster character ready for his debut on the main roster.
Believe it or not, there was a time when Lars Sullivan had all the sympathy in the wrestling world from fans. After suffering from a massive anxiety attack just before his main roster debut, he walked away on the night and wouldn't be introduced for three more months.
Not long after that debut, it was revealed that he had a history of racist, homophobic, sexist, and otherwise offensive posts on a bodybuilding forum, including some that specifically mention Stephanie McMahon. The idea of Sullivan as the next big thing or worthy of sympathy soon dissolved, and nobody was surprised when his request to be released from his contract was granted in January.
Sullivan has stated that he's done with professional wrestling and is currently training to box in a bare knuckle fighting organisation.
