Before the purge of 2020, it was said that WWE cared less about the talent of their stars than they did preventing those names from appearing on other promotions. This has never been more evident than the mixed bag of luchadores the company employed over the years, despite never knowing how to book them. For every Rey Mysterio who got over in spite of the company, there's a dozen Sin Caras who are just lost.

Between these extremes we have the Lucha House party who range from quite good if not Mysterio level, all the way down to Lince Dorado blatantly jumping in the way of an attack from across the ring because he's out of position... again. So it should come as no surprise that... Wait, they sacked Kalisto?

The former NXT Tag Team, Cruiserweight, United States champion, and one of the few good luchadores WWE had was released from his contract in April 2021.

As well as setting his sights on the boxing ring, he debuted in AEW on the November 3rd episode of Dynamite under his old ring name of Samuray Del Sol.

After hearing that you are what you eat, Mik took a good hard look at his diet and realised he might just be a szechuan spare rib alongside prawn fried rice.
