What They Did Next: WWE 2021 Releases - Part 2
3. Kyle O'Reilly
Kyle O'Reilly is one of the most legitimate-feeling fighters to ever enter a wrestling ring since the fall of kayfabe. He always looks like he's in a real fight, trying to win as economically as possible, and always thinking what he can pull from his arsenal next to outwit his opponent. And what an arsenal it is. An array of suplexes and submissions meet some of the fastest strikes in the business in a flurry of chained manoeuvres and counters that feel more MMA than wrestling at times.
O'Reilly is someone that elevates every match and promo he's a part of, even in the background, and is a credit to every roster. So of course creative had nothing for him.
As he told Renee Paquette on The Sessions, if after four and a half years there wasn't a spot on the main roster for him then he felt there never would be. And so he chose to leave when his contract expired, next appearing in AEW where he's reformed reDRagon with Bobby Fish and is currently facing off against old foes The Young Bucks in a custody battle for the Bay Bay.
