What They Did Next: WWE 2021 Releases - Part 2

2. Lince Dorado

The Lucha House Party was never intended as a joke faction in WWE. What the members originally pitched was a mafia-esque group of luchadores who wore suits and kept their masks on. Sadly creative thought that crowds wouldn't understand that presentation and made them carry a pinata around instead.

Somehow this isn't the reason they requested their release, nor is the fact that Legado Del Fantasma ably showed that their pitched gimmick works brilliantly. The straw that broke the golden lynx's back came when Dorado was forced to take a punishment pin on Main Event after trying to speak to Vince about a match. Both he and an already unhappy Gran Metallik immediately asked to be released, and they were amongst the early November firings.

Lince Dorado (real name Jose Cordero) was already booked for the Brazillian Jiu Jitsu World League event at the Florida Open that took place just two days following his release. The man that WWE creative had portrayed as a joke in a joke faction for years because they couldn't picture him as a serious fighter went on to win his bracket.

After hearing that you are what you eat, Mik took a good hard look at his diet and realised he might just be a szechuan spare rib alongside prawn fried rice.
