Why These NXT Stars Were Backstage At WWE Raw
Three NXT notables were backstage at WWE Raw last night. Here's why.
Karrion Kross, Scarlett, and Shotzi Blackheart were backstage at last night's WWE Raw tapings, reports PWInsider's Mike Johnson, who states that the trio were there to work dark matches or compete for Main Event.
This follows on from last week, when NXT Champion Kross and his North American counterpart, Bronson Reed, were both victorious at the Main Event tapings. Kross' appearance on WWE's D-show was notable for the considerable downgrade the promotion gave his trademark ring entrance and presentation.
Fightful Select, who have been on top of this developing situation throughout, note that Reed, Scarlett, Blackheart, and Kross have been backstage at Raw and SmackDown tapings as part of WWE's ongoing efforts to "scout" talent and replenish its depleted main roster numbers.
Scarlett has been linked to a main roster tryout of her own, without Kross. It was reported last week that the duo, who have been tethered together since Karrion was signed in 2020, could work as separate main roster acts.
Reed and Kross are both believed to be on WWE's list of wrestlers to be called up to the main roster. As reported earlier, Vince McMahon himself will visit the Performance Center to scout talent later this week.
