Why Undertaker Vs AJ Styles Won't Be THIS Gimmick At WrestleMania 36

Despite online rumours, WrestleMania will NOT feature this particular gimmick match.

AJ Styles Promo Raw

This past week on Monday Night Raw, we all saw AJ Styles cut a promo in which he shot down The Undertaker as a frail, beaten-down old man who he effectively promised to kill. Because, well, wrestling.

While The Phenomenal One’s proclamation of wanting ‘Taker’s death on his hands was maybe a little bizarre, the wording of Styles’ promo saw some wrestling fans thinking that this may be a way to set up a Casket Match between the duo at next month’s WrestleMania 36. According to the Wrestling Observer, that is seemingly not the case.

The Observer is reporting that there are absolutely no plans at this stage for AJ Styles vs. The Undertaker to have a Casket Match attached to it.

It’s not been completely ruled out that this match might have some sort of stipulation on it, but as of this writing any such stip will not follow in the footsteps of The Deadman’s WrestleMania 22 match against Mark Henry by involving a casket.

Following pinning AJ to win the Twuaiq Trophy at WWE Super ShowDown last month, Undertaker appeared at this past weekend’s Elimination Chamber PPV to cost Styles his match against Aleister Black. As per P1 on this week’s Raw, Styles and ‘Taker will partake in a WrestleMania contract signing on this coming Monday’s outing for the red brand.
