Why WWE Needs To Immediately Fix THIS Historic Mistake

2. The Legacy

It's crazy to think that Demolition were only together for just over four years, but man, what a four years.

By modern standards, that four years is nothing. For example, the New Day has been together for nine years by this point here in 2023. Still, Demolition created a legacy that has continued to live on long since the team's tenure with WWE came to an end in 1991.

To this day, when thinking of the greatest tag team finishers, the Demolition Decapitation always springs to mind. Likewise, when thinking of the greatest entrance themes, Demolition comes to mind. Then there's the intimidation factor, where the hulking frames of Ax and Smash - and Crush, to be fair - in full entrance garb is a memory that still sends a shiver down the spine.

Added to that, Bill Eadie and Barry Darsow were two great workers who knew how to accentuate their positives, and their connection with the crowd - whether as heels or babyfaces - was phenomenal to see during Demolition's heyday.

Of course, there's also the fact that Demolition's first Tag Team Title reign of 478 days remained a company record for a whopping 27 years before New Day broke it in 2016. Even now, Demolition still holds the record for the most combined days with the classic Tag Team Championships, as the team's three reigns totalled a fantastic 698 days.

Simply put, Demolition were utterly badass as a presence on WWF programming, and their work and influence can still be seen today across WWE and far beyond.
