WWE pulled the latest edition of its Icons docuseries from its schedule this past weekend, with an episode based on Lex Luger originally due to air on Sunday 4 July.

Per PWInsider's Mike Johnson, WWE did this in order to present the documentary with a strong lead-in at a later date, which may involve premiering the episode alongside a larger event, like a main roster pay-per-view.

WWE has not yet announced a new date for Luger's Icons special, though it had been promoted throughout the week before the company decided to postpone it. The original 4 July date was to coincide with the 28-year anniversary of Lex bodyslamming Yokozuna on the U.S.S. Intrepid.

PWInsider has previously reported that WWE has put a hold on all upcoming documentaries, going as far as halting production on a number of shows.

WWE has aired three Icons documentaries thus far. Episode one focused on Yokozuna and aired on 31 January, with Beth Phoenix and Rob Van Dam-themed episodes following in March and May respectively. The series' latest subject, Luger, has been out of the company since 1995, but claimed he had returned to help WWE work on its Wellness Policy in 2011.
