WrestleMania 31: 8 Reasons Interest Is At An All-Time Low
3. They've Taken Away All The Heroes
When it comes to Dolph Ziggler, any fan who is surprised that his superstar performance at Survivor Series hasn't translated into a main event run hasn't been paying attention. The Show-Off has been the recipient of more start-and-stop pushes than anyone on the active roster, and this is just the latest round of disappointment for Ziggler fans. Seeing him mired in the multi-man Intercontinental championship ladder match is right about where the company sees him - a guy who can bounce around, make other guys look good and get some nice pops but not main event material. Another performer in the match - Dean Ambrose - is a bit more shocking. This is a guy who, towards the latter half of 2014 felt like he could easily ascend to the top spot and win the title at WrestleMania 31, but instead the company went out of their way to dilute interest in him with losing feuds and stupid segments. He went from being scorching hot with the best reactions on the show to losing back-to-back feuds jobbing to holograms and televisions. These two men should be occupying top spots on the biggest card of the year. instead WWE chose to ignore their fan base and actively fight against them, chipping away at their enthusiasm for both guys until they're just a couple of extra hands competing for a secondary title held by a champion who can't win a match.
