7. How To Slay A Monster

The Raw Women’s Title match came off the rails towards the end, but the first half was very well put together. Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, and Bayley always have great chesmitry, and while Nia Jax is still finding her feet as a performer, the match definitely benefited from her presence. Jax played her monster role so well that her opponents were forced to band together as reluctant allies, leading to her eventual elimination.

Nia’s size and strength saw her controlling the initial brawl, even as the others swarmed around her. Soon, the Horsewomen realised that they had no chance of surviving alone, but together, they could slay the monster. It took a while to chop Nia down, but they eventually succeeded, then eliminated Jax from the match with an awesome Shield-esque triple powerbomb and a dogpile pinfall.

The bout continued at a brisk pace, with Sasha and Charlotte pulling out their usual array of high-risk dives, but lost momentum on two “exposed" turnbuckle spots with the ‘buckle cover still half-attached. Regardless, the way Sasha, Charlotte, and Bayley recognised Nia as the match’s biggest threat and worked together to take her down was a great piece of booking, and the powerbomb an impressive visual.
