The WrestleMania ladder match is a tradition that was sadly missing at 35, and thus it is my sole mission over the next year to see it return. It's the events easiest chance to get a particular subset of wrestlers onto the show; basically those who are a) popular with the fans, b) have entertained well above the strength of their booking and c) won't be getting anything major to do that year.

Plus it's a great chance to spring a surprise. Zack Ryder winning the belt at WrestleMania 32, the Hardy Boyz returning at 33, all of the original Money in the Bank matches, usually the source of shocking finishes as well as shocking moments. The fact we've been missing them for the last two WrestleManias (although apparently one was planned for 34 they just held back on it for Greatest Royal Rumble) is a travesty.

How You Book It: Without drawing you a graph you just have various ways of qualifying all the interested parties. I'd personally have Aleister going in as Champion, having turned on Ricochet earlier in the year. You have a 1 on 1 between them both at the Rumble, with Black cheating to win and Ricochet demanding another shot. Joe, having gone on a tear on Raw tells him to get to the back of the line.

Meanwhile, on one of the dual-branded PPVs, Black finds himself in an altercation with members of the SmackDown locker room, possibly even resulting in him interfering in a United States title match and stopping them all from winning it. Back on Raw, all aggrieved parties turn up on the same night claiming they all have the strongest claim to face him at WrestleMania. The solution, they all get him.
