The match everyone was clamouring for upon his big return, The Miz vs Daniel Bryan as the cherry on top of the bitterly disappointing cake that was the initial return of Daniel Bryan. Nothing was really done to make either of them believable in their roles of 'Plucky But Grizzled Veteran With A Point To Prove' and 'Arrogant But Ruthless Megalomaniac In The Form Of His Life'.

The feud, for all its early promise, fizzled out into a mixed-tag with their wives and a bizarre roll-up finish at Australia's Super Show Down. That was it. That's how it ended. With Maryse pinning Brie Bella, and then a banter finish at an exhibition show.

But, since then, both men have emerged from the chrysalis of bad booking to now be doing some career-best work. Bryan's heel run with the WWE Championship has given birth to one of the best characters the company has seen in years, and Miz has, somehow, become a naturally likeable face. The roles have flipped entirely, and it affords WWE the chance to rekindle the match.

How You Book It: Bryan regains the WWE Championship at some point during the year and is, again, given free reign to run with the gimmick. Meanwhile, Miz is kept well apart from him, embarking on a quest on Raw to prove he can still win the big one. This culminates in a huge upset Royal Rumble victory and a showdown with his old foe at WrestleMania.
