8. The KISS Demon

Ahh, The KISS Demon: Eric Bischoff and Gene Simmons' cross-promotional lovechild. Surely these two visionaries would craft a character so legendary and world-conquering that the sheer mention of its name twenty years later would give you goosebumps the size of Simmons' tongue.

Well, if you are experiencing any sort of rash thinking about The KISS Demon right now, that's probably a rash. You should really get that checked out.

On paper, the idea of incorporating a KISS-themed gimmick into the WCW roster in 1998 didn't seem all that loony. After all, the band was in the middle of a warmly-received reunion and had just unleashed their 18th album into the world. Besides, WCW had legitimately turned into a circus by then anyhow, so The Demon concept fit right in.

And honestly, compared to some of the other Hollywood shlock they'd inserted into their programs over the years, it wasn't that bad. For a one-off. Unfortunately, after Bischoff left the company, the character completely fell apart.

But WCW was so lost for ideas that they kept The Demon around far longer than they should have, eventually shoehorning him into a stable with The Insane Clown Posse because...hey, you guys are all face-painted musicians. He went from a moderately intriguing character to an excuse to take an extended bathroom break in a matter of weeks.
