WWE: 10 Attitude Era Superstars Who Could Still Make An Impact Today

2. William Regal

OK, this one is a bit of a cheat. Regal is still employed by WWE, but he's been relegated to NXT, where he alternately rules the commentary desk and goes toe-to-toe with Cesaro. It's doubtful that Regal has more than a handful of matches left in him, but if WWE wants to play up the respect feud Cesaro and Regal had in NXT, that would be a fine way to bring him to the main roster. Maybe Regal provides backup or a tag-team partner when Jack Swagger turns on Cesaro, or maybe he acts as a mentor. The big addition that Regal would make of course is as a commentator. Ever since his days as general manager, Regal has showed the WWE audience that he can shine on the mike. His knowledge of wrestling and ability to get someone over would dwarf anyone else in the booth. Why he's not on Raw right now (punting JBL over to Smackdown, and I actually like JBL) is beyond me.

Scott is a former journalist and longtime wrestling fan who was smart enough to abandon WCW during the Monday Night Wars the same time as the Radicalz. He fortunately became a fan in time for WrestleMania III and came back as a fan after a long high school hiatus before WM XIV. Monday nights in the Carlson household are reserved for viewing Raw -- for better or worse.
