WWE: 10 Attitude-Era Wrestlers Who Never Won A Title
5. Dan "The Beast" Severn
Dan Severn was only in the WWF for one year, but he came in as a highly-decorated fighter. Covered in gold belts from NWA and UFC - wrapped around his waist and draped over his shoulders- Severn was brought in under the tutelage of James E. Cornette as part of the failed NWA-Invasion angle of 1998. Unfortunately, the ultimate fighter's skill-set did not transfer as well to the World Wrestling Federation- particularly during the Attitude Era- and fans were generally apathetic towards the mustachioed-warrior during his feuds with Owen Hart, D'Lo Brown, and fellow UFC fighter Ken Shamrock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLYQ2IgwxAI Severn only had one title match in his brief WWF tenure: a European Title match against D'Lo Brown that featured outside interference from Mark Henry, Steve Blackman, Edge, and Shamrock. Severn also competed in the Brawl For All tournament, defeating The Godfather in Round 1 before bowing out of the tournament, and he made it to the quarterfinals of the 1998 King of the Ring, before being defeated by the Intercontinental Champion The Rock. A follow-up title match never happened, and Severn was pretty much written out of the Federation following an injury-storyline with Owen Hart and another botched piledriver. Severn would again win the NWA World Title in 2001, but was stripped before the title was paired with TNA shortly before their first PPV; the title was won that night by Shamrock.
