WWE: 10 Best Turns In WrestleMania History

4. Steve Austin At WrestleMania 17

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJ-WydBv65U This is one of the harder ones to properly rate because it happened during one of the biggest matches in the history of WrestleMania, but turning Austin heel may not have been the best move. That's something that Austin has said many times over the years. He's spoken about how he wishes they called an audible and changed things on the fly because he realized how tough it would be to get booed in Houston that night. Austin ended up beating The Rock for the WWE Title thanks to the blatant interference of his biggest enemy Vince McMahon. Fans didn't really boo as he won the title following a dozen chair shots. They were happy he won. And they didn't totally hate the idea of him shaking McMahon's hand either. There were plenty of rumors out about the turn happening, but it was also very risky since Austin was the top guy in the company and any time you do something like that you have to be really sure. As an angle it was very good and one of the most memorable moments in WrestleMania history. Perhaps if the reception to the turn was better it would be higher up on this list, but it was still well done.
