WWE: The 10 Best Ultimate Warrior Moments

2. Warrior Retires Randy Savage At Wrestlemania VII

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CZJG0WkpqQ This was a tough, tough call. This is probably one of my favorite matches of all-time and clearly Warrior€™s best ever, but of course one moment was above it. It€™s also the culmination of the greatest long-form storyline that the WWF ever did, with the Darth Vader-like rise, fall and resurrection of Randy Savage at the forefront. But for me as a fan, this was awesome revenge for Warrior, especially because Savage€™s interference at Royal Rumble 91 to cost Warrior the WWF title was such a kick in the crotch and really made everyone want to kill Savage. And has there ever been a more total and thorough revenge before or since? Warrior kicked out of five flying elbows and then put Savage down with five shoulder tackles before pinning him, with one foot mind you, to end his career. It€™s a great match, an unmitigated classic in fact, and the storyline around it with Savage redeeming his relationship with Elizabeth makes it one of the best moments in wrestling history as well. It€™s a self-contained storyline (Savage costs Warrior the title at Rumble, Warrior wants revenge) that has a two-year backstory (Savage dumps Elizabeth in power-mad rage and loses everything as a result), so there€™s literally something for everyone watching. A magnificent moment during an otherwise terrible period for wrestling in general.
