6. John Cena Vs. CM Punk Money in the Bank
The first six months of 2011 were terrible for the WWE the product was stale and popularity was wavering. Unless you were in the age bracket of five to twelve and John Cena was your hero, or you were one of the few people who actually thought The Miz being in the main event at Wrestlemania was a good idea, there wasn't much for adult wrestling fans to get excited about. That all changed in July in what is now known as 'The Summer of Punk.' After CM Punk's now-iconic pipe bomb, wrestling finally became relevant again. In a single promo, CM Punk addressed what millions of fans were thinking every week and ultimately rejuvenated all our interest. We'd finally found our hero, The Voice of the Voiceless, and who better than for our anti- hero to go up against, than the WWE's poster boy John Cena. This scenario alone would have been enough to make wrestling interesting again, but throw Punk's contract dispute into the mix and the fact the match was in Punk's hometown of Chicago and we all knew we had a mouth-watering wrestling spectacle to look forward to. The video package which was produced with this epic feud successfully recaptured everything that was brilliant about the build-up to this match. As CM Punk asks during the promo, 'do I have everybody's attention now?' I think it's safe to say that he definitely did.
