8. Jim Ross Vents On Raw
Jim Ross is a favourite running joke for Vince McMahon, and has often been made to suffer humiliation in the WWE. But in 1996 he got to cut a scathing promo in which he gave his real feelings about McMahon and the WWF, and in truth he probably felt like shooting off like this most years in his tenure. Ross came to the ring with real passion, brilliantly conveying his frustration. He talked about coming to the WWF to become the number 1 play-by-play guy, only to be brought in and made to wear a toga at Wrestlemania in Las Vegas. Ross then mentioned his Balls Palsy affliction, saying that Vince McMahon had fired him because of his condition. The fact is that this promo would foreshadow Ross's real frustrations with Vince in later years. McMahon really did enjoy belittling Ross in angles, and he really did look to get rid of Ross based on factors not related to performance. To good old J.R's credit he has taken all such bashes with dignity. Beyond the worked shoot he has never really opened up on the widely perceived mistreatment that fans feel he has been made to suffer. Even now he's no longer with WWE, Ross still maintains a code of silence. J.R never really made it as a heel (neither did the fake Razor Ramon he introduces in the video) but this worked shoot still stands as a lesson in how to blur the lines of reality with passionate truth.
