6. Hogan Bash At The Beach
Was it a work? Was it a shoot? Debate has raged for years what really went down during Bash at the Beach 2000. The incident happened with Jeff Jarrett coming down for his Hogan world title match and simply going flat on the mat. Hogan looked puzzled, before WCW booker Vince Russo came down and threw the World Title at him. The Hulkster then got on the mic and stated "this is the reason this company is in the damn shape it's in, because of bulls*it like this." Hogan then put his foot on Jarrett's chest for the three count. Hogan and Bischoff have since admitted that this was a worked shoot, and they left thinking that they had just pulled a great angle that would bring some considerable attention to WCW. However, as they left, Vince Russo was turning the whole thing into a real shoot. Russo came back to the ring and called Hogan a piece of s*it. He added that the earlier match wasn't official, Jarrett was still champion and would face Booker T later in the evening. Russo then promised that Hogan would never be seen in WCW again and he wasn't. It started as a worked shoot that would have been hugely talked about, ultimately ballooning into a real shoot that was talked about for years after WCW's demise.
