WWE: 10 Best Wrestling Matches Of The Past 10 Years

10. Triple H Vs The Undertaker, Hell In A Cell, Special Referee Shawn Michaels, WrestleMania 28, (2012)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=goCnGshK6Ws The best match of 2012 was Triple H vs Undertaker, but over the scheme of the entire 04-14 decade it ranks tenth in the best matches of the last ten years. That rings true in that 2012 was a fairly average year overall for the WWE, with Hunter and Taker standing out as the shining exception. It was two of the biggest names ever clashing inside the match both excel within - Hell in a Cell. The setting of WrestleMania and addition of Shawn Michaels as ref only added to the specialness. Storyline wise it was brilliant, Hunter had almost beat Undertaker the year previous, this time he had vowed to get the job done. Michaels played into the dynamic nicely, he was worried for his friend and some also questioned if he would take his own revenge against The Deadman. Could the Undertaker overcome the situation? The action was a full on brawl, starting with back and forth hits before descending into hardcore attacks. This included the use of steel steps, chairs and of course the cage. The threat level was constantly intense. The Game looked to be getting the better of Taker but the Deadman recovered from the Pedigree to batter Hunter with a chair and sledgehammer before winning with an emphatic tombstone. All those big weapon shots and kick outs combined to make for a spectacular contest. You rarely see this level of match unleashed, the intensity throughout had you on the edge of your seat. The calling of it as 'the end of an era' as Hunter, Taker and Michaels embraced after the match also added to the special feeling that this was something extraordinary.
