9. Shawn Michaels Vs John Cena, Raw, April 23rd 2007
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xm_PBEzlrvo At Wrestlemania 23 we witnessed John Cena and Shawn Michaels contest a fine wrestling match. It would have been good enough in its own right to be considered a match of the year contender, but just a few weeks later, Cena and Michaels would make the Mania bout look average. They did this by wrestling what many fans consider to be the best ever TV match WWE has ever done, a Cena vs Michaels none title match from London, England which went 57 minutes. The athletic ability of both men was at its very best, they demonstrated great stamina and intelligence to make the match last nearly an hour. It was the night when wrestling fans finally gave Cena his due respect, after all, there's nowhere to hide when wrestling for nearly an hour. Cena proved he has what it takes as an in-ring worker. A lot of the credit admittedly should go to the more experienced Michaels who called the match, but it was really a team effort. The selling and timing of both men was spot on and both kicked out of each others respective finishers. The drama built and built before HBK jumped out of an AA and landed a sweet chin music for the pin just shy of an hour. The real testament of how good this bout was is the fact it felt far shorter than an hour, we could easily have watched an hour more of the action and still been entertained. A true classic and arguably still the best television match ever seen.
