WWE: 10 Biggest Royal Rumble Missed Opportunities In History

5. The Greats Who Didn't Win It

Cm Punk Best We have detailed Kurt Angle, but there are many other WWE superstars that have missed out on the opportunity of a Rumble win. CM Punk is a prime example. He has been the second biggest star in the company for the last three years, the best wrestler in the world, but he hasn't won a Rumble. Perhaps that will be remedied at the 2014 Royal Rumble. Kane should really have been given a Rumble win considering his longevity and consistency with the company. As stated, Big Show is a surprising man never to have won it. He has been pushed strongly in just about every other capacity and role, but never managed to win the 30 man Rumble. Christian would have been a worthy winner - he could have won the 2011 Rumble instead of Del Rio and gone on to give best friend Edge his last ever match at Mania. What a story that would have been. Stretching back further through time, The Ultimate Warrior was a star who never got to win the Rumble. You can add Randy Savage to that list too - men who would have been famous winners but never even got considered. Andre the Giant is another one. Surely the big giant should have won one of those very first Rumble matches. Throughout the event history there are moments that could be seen as a better opportunity for someone else. For the most part though, it has to be said, WWE usually get their winner correct. Look at some of the great stories they have told. The Rumble concept is a brilliant creative device.
