Michaels is a bloody mess!" - Jim Ross The first Hell in a Cell was an unknown entity for fans going into it. We had no idea what a Hell in a Cell was. We learned that it was a big cage that surrounded the ring. What we didn't expect was for the two competitors to get outside the cage. That was set up by a camera guy taken out and it led to the blood in this match too. With both guys fighting outside the cage, Undertaker gave Michaels a slingshot into the cage. I can remember watching it on tape after the match and you could see Michaels cutting himself as the move took place. You don't want to see the guy cut himself on camera, but it was so sudden that he deserves a lot of praise. It can't be easy doing that when you're flying through the air. There was even a shot of Undertaker grating the face of Michaels into the cage and blood was dripping onto a camera underneath. Michaels got his ass kicked for the majority of the match, but he ended up winning thanks to the interference of Kane. The amount of blood he lost was a great addition to the story they told.
