WWE: 10 Bloodiest WrestleMania Matches Ever

1. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Benoit - WrestleMania XX

Former best friends Shawn Michaels and Triple H had been in an 18 month rivalry that had seen its fair share of blood spilt and the two seemed destined for another battle at the twentieth WrestleMania. That was until a third man entered the fray in the former of Royal Rumble winner Chris Benoit. 2004 marked the first time that the Rumble winner was given the surprise option of which champion they wished to face and Benoit stunned everyone by choosing to interject himself in the company's biggest feud. Just as he had been the third man in the main event, Benoit would keep himself separate from the blood feud in the contest on his way to victory. His individual story was a feel good rise of a pure wrestler and his embrace with best friend Eddie Guerrero in celebration, blood wasn't needed to tell that. Yet it was Benoit that actually busted open Michaels by throwing him into the ring post, but after Benoit was put through the announce table the personal feud got to take centre stage once more. This gave Michaels the opportunity to bloody his rival, meaning both men were now bleeding profusely. This sadly hidden WrestleMania classic is mostly a traditional wrestling contest as opposed to a hardcore contest but it provided two of the most blood covered performers in the history of the event. While the crowd's favourite Benoit could sell his damage from going through the announce table, the blood displayed the wear and tear on his two opponents to set up Benoit's big moment while continuing their feud away from the gold.
