WWE: 10 Candidates To Be The New Raw General Manager

2. Ric Flair

Once the Brand Extension went into effect following WrestleMania 18, Ric Flair took full ownership of Monday Night Raw. His time atop the company was short-lived, however, as Flair was removed from his post on June 10, 2002. He would never again serve as an on-air authority figure for WWE, but would come close on several occasions. Almost exactly seven years later, it was revealed that a mysterious investor bought the Raw franchise from Mr. McMahon. The show emanated from Flair's home turf of Charlotte, NC, and Flair had returned to the company only a few weeks prior, so it was only logical for fans to assume that he was behind it all. However, Donald Trump was instead revealed to be the one who purchased the flagship show from McMahon, not The Nature Boy. Flair debuted in TNA in early 2010 and remained there until May 2012. When AJ Lee was fired as Raw General Manager that October, fans had high hopes that her replacement would be revealed to be a returning Ric Flair. Unfortunately, Vickie Guerrero was given the position instead and Flair eventually made his comeback to the company at the 2012 Slammy Awards show in December. In the last two years, Flair has made sporadic appearances on WWE TV, but one would think that WWE would make better use of him given his worth to the company. WWE has reportedly wanted Flair to return in an regular role for some time now but have had trouble finding a proper place for him. There's really no point in him reuniting with Evolution and having him serve as the manager for The Miz or The Shield could be a catastrophe. Thus, the role of Raw GM would prove to be perfect for the two-time WWE Hall of Famer. Although Flair wasn't on the best of terms with Evolution during his last appearance, it could very well end up being a swerve and Triple H, the COO of the WWE, could assign him as the new Raw General Manager. That way, Evolution would have complete control over the company and Flair wouldn't have to serve as a manager or an active competitor (nor should he at this stage of his career).
