3. A Silent Anniversary
Wrestlemania 30 is meant to be an Anniversary edition of the long running wrestling spectacular. As such it is meant to celebrate its past, showcase its present and leave fans secure in the knowledge that its better days lie in its future. None of this is true however with regards to Wrestlemania 30. Apart from Hulk Hogan being bribed back to fulfil a hosting role, Wrestlemania 30 will suffer from the severe lack of superstars from its past to make it a viable Anniversary show. Where is The Rock, Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels? Where is Bret Hart, Edge and Ric Flair? Where is Trish Stratus and Lita? Without superstars from the past, and with Hulk Hogan no doubt taking centre stage 25 years past his expiry date, WWE fans past and present have little to celebrate this 30 year Anniversary of Wrestlemania. Similarly the matches currently scheduled do not reflect the many talented wrestlers who work in the mid card of the roster, and are severely limited and cheapened by the chronic inability of the modern WWE to invest in building compelling storylines and promote them. As such Wrestlemania 30 will have the Anniversary feel of the wake and leaves many troubling questions the most pressing of which will be; Will there be a Wrestlemania in another ten years time?
