WWE: 10 Divas From The 90s That We Loved

2. Sable

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xMOjhs_Qss The case can be made that Sable was the most popular woman in WWE history at her peak. Her peak would be the summer of 1998 and into the early part of 1999. By the summer of 1999 she had already left WWE. The reason Sable took off as a major star is because in the Attitude Era the WWE was pushing the idea of violence, strong language and sex very far. Her sex appeal was very strong. She had a great body that the fans wanted to see. There was also the right story because the man she managed (former husband Marc Mero) turned into a jealous heel that was mad that Sable was getting bigger reactions than him. That led to a split with Sable getting into the ring for some matches including going up against Mero at times too. When thinking about Sable, the first thing that comes to mind is her run as WWE Women's Champion at a time when they tried to revive the division (again) and also her three Playboy covers. Her first Playboy cover was early in 1999 and then after she left the company she was on again. When she returned to WWE in 2003 she appeared on the cover again. No woman in wrestling history It would not be a surprise to see Sable inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in the very near future. In terms of star power, fame and ability to garner high ratings there are few women that can ever match Sable.
