WWE: 10 Failed Attempts At Re-Creating WrestleMania Magic

1. Hulk Hogan vs. The Ultimate Warrior (Halloween Havoc 1998)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_onsAu6SZH8 Truly, when one thinks about WrestleMania rematches that failed miserably, this is the match that comes up first in every wrestling fan's minds. Their match at WCW Halloween Havoc was so horrible that it wouldn't be hard to believe that this was WCW's way of mocking, and making a parody out of, their classic first encounter in WWE. At WrestleMania 6, Hogan versus the Warrior, while not in anyone's top ten greatest matches of all time, was still a very entertaining match that had two of the biggest icons in the industry competing for both the World and Intercontinental Championships. When Warrior defeated Hogan, and Hogan raised his opponent's arm in victory, it was a celebration of the passing of the torch to a new face of WWE. Over time, history would show that Warrior's title reign was not as great as people wanted it to be, and eventually Hogan would regain his position on top. Years later, after both men had made their way over to rival company WCW, the powers that be knew that they had to make a rematch between the two. It was a money match idea that everyone was curious to see. Once the match actually took place though, everyone wanted to shield their eyes from what they were viewing. With botched moves, a slow-to-a-crawl pacing, a failed attempt at a fireball from Hogan, and Warrior literally rolling on the mat in order to trip Hogan, there was no saving this dud of a match. Looking back, this match is always great for a laugh at the expense of both Hogan and Warrior. But at the time, it was a disappointment for fans of both WWE and WCW who wanted to see the magic of WrestleMania 6 one last time.
