6. Floyd Mayweather - WrestleMania 24
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dC6TRi_2DI8 When WWE signed Floyd "Money" Mayweather to wrestle the Big Show at WrestleMania 24 in Orlando they got one of the biggest names in boxing in the prime of his career. Mayweather had a record of 39-0 in boxing when WWE signed him (he's 45-0 now). The reason WWE brought him in is because he was one of the biggest draws in the boxing world and he still is. It was a smart business move for them. The match against Big Show had a weird build because Show was in the role of the heel, but Mayweather did not do a very good job as a babyface. I think he showed a lot of personality in the wrestling ring and that's why WWE signed him in the first place. However, he should have been booked to be a more likable character. There was a challenge for WWE since Show was billed as a 441 pounder going up against the 159 pounder Mayweather. The way they booked the match was with a lot of tricks since Mayweather had his bodyguards with him at ringside, so Show had to beat up a bunch of other people in order to win. The finish saw Mayweather grab the gold chain of one of his bodyguards and he put it on his fist. Show was groggy. He was on his knees. Floyd punched him right in the face with the chain wrapped around his right hand. That led to the knockout finish. You're not going to pay that much money, however much it was, to have Mayweather lose. The problem is a lot of people hated Floyd because he came off as such a cocky guy and didn't do a good job of being a traditional babyface, which he should have been in a match like this. It's not like he got a big pop from the fans. It was mild. Looking back at it today, I understand why they brought Floyd to WrestleMania in the first place, but the execution of the angle could have been handled a lot better.
