WWE: 10 Greatest Cruiserwieghts Of All Time
7. Tajiri http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbbslCXLMjM Technically the first WWE Cruiserweight Champion as the WWE gained control of the titles after they defeated The Alliance at the 2001 Survivor Series. Started off as William Regal's assistant which showed off Tajiri's comedic sensibilities. One of the highlights of his comedic undertakings was his commentary on an episode of Smackdown as he filled in for Tazz alongside Jim Ross and Michael Cole. "Oh my God...rocket buster...barbecue sauce," being one of the best lines ever shouted on commentary thanks to Tajiri. But it was Tajiri's in-ring work that made him a force to be reckoned. The Tarantula, Handspring Back Elbow, and the Buzzsaw Kick being some of his signature maneuvers clearly helped Tajiri stand apart from his cruiserweight counterparts. He was able to capture the Cruiserweight title on 3 different occasions, which included a win over Rey Mysterio. He also briefly teamed with Eddie Guerrero by subbing in for Chavo and went on to win the Tag Team Titles. Despite falling into the common Japanese stereotype that WWE generally places on their wrestlers from the Land of the Rising Sun, Taijiri exceeded expectations thanks to his wrestling ability and appealing character. If it not had been for either of those he would've just been another Yoshi Tatsu, or even worse, Kenzo Suzuki.
