2. He's Being Positioned For Greatness

Everyone thought that Seth Rollins would be the one to rebel against The Shield and go on to babyface greatness. He can take a bump like no one's business, and has proven himself against a variety of opponents. But then Dean Ambrose won the United States title, and Rollins and Reigns the Tag Team Championship, creating a natural division between Ambrose and his mates. All the more sweet, then, when our expectations were upended and Reigns began smirking at Ambrose, and not across the ring at his opponent. When Reigns stood maybe half a meter away from the trio, just enough to send a message to anyone who's paying close attention. When Reigns started playing a larger part in the story of their matches. Then Reigns became the star of The Shield's highlight reel, most notably winning the title of sole survivor at Survivor Series (and a pin on the hugely-favoured returning Rey Mysterio). He is clearly being positioned as a viable star in his own right, proven by the wild, hearty reception of the crowd when his hand was raised. "That's gotta be one of the all-time greatest Survivor Series performances!" proclaimed Michael Cole, and JBL chimed in with "Roman Reigns has stepped into the spotlight!" They said it with great conviction.
