3. That Voice

The company has given the bulk of every Shield script to Dean Ambrose, and secondarily to Seth Rollins. They both have more experience on the microphone, and can get their message across with ease. But instead of making it look like a vote of non-confidence in Reigns' promo abilities, it has served to build him as a strong, silent type. In the beginning, he kept his contributions brief and gruff, filling the gap with a glowering stare that did all the talking required. As The Shield began making more in-ring appearances, Reigns would utter threats to their opponents, always brutally descriptive. But the real power of his voice came to fruition when it was time for The Shield to wrestle. Roman Reigns enjoys punctuating their matches by roaring encouragement to his team mates, and growling taunts at his opponents. His deep voice suits his image perfectly, and he wields it with the same amount of confidence that he does The Spear. Criticize him for being weak on the mic, but Roman Reigns can deliver all the words you need to hear once the bell rings.
