WWE: 10 Iconic Alliances That Should Be Reinvented For 2014
5. Camp Cornette (1995-1997)
Jim Cornette was dropping pipe bombs long before they were cool, and as far as manager-centric factions go, Camp Cornette was the mid-1990s answer to the Heenan family. Cornette, always the self-appointed tennis racket-wielding center of attention, is rightfully credited with doing some of the best mic work of the entire decade (think Paul Heyman only much more irritating) while guiding the early WWE heel careers of Yokozuna, Owen Hart, Vader, and the British Bulldog. Camp Cornette struck championship gold with the interesting duo of Yokozuna and Owen Hart winning the tag-team straps on two different occasions. Cornette's top men, like Heenan's stable before him, never won the WWE title, but they always had memorable upper mid-card matches during the "In Your House" era of professional wrestling. Cornette's role in the faction was just as important as any of his wrestlers. He could make you hate a golden retriever puppy if he walked it down to ringside, and we all know that every great match needs a despised villain either in or outside of the ring. 2014 Proposed Update - Camp Colter This update would go off without a hitch. Zeb Colter is primed and ready to manage a large heel stable, and members like Jack Swagger, Curtis Axel, Damien Sandow, and The Miz would create some pretty memorable spots with Uncle Zeb at the helm.
