6. Eddie Guerrero "I'm Your Papi"
Most t-shirt slogans are born from recurring catchphrases and characters, not isolated storylines. And maybe this Eddie Guerrero t-shirt from 2005 is evidence of why that usually happens. That year, Eddie was in a storyline with close friend Rey Mysterio, which revolved around the fact that Guerrero just could not beat his friend. Normal enough story right? And it was. Until someone somewhere decided that it wasn't enough, and it needed to get more "personal." And so, Eddie started alluding to knowing a deep secret about Rey's family. This led to a match at the Great American Bash, where if Eddie lost he promised never to reveal the secret. He lost. But it's Eddie, he lies, he cheats and he steals. Eddie revealed that he was in actual fact the father of Rey's son Dominick. As the story goes, Eddie had the child out of wedlock, then allowed Rey and his wife to adopt him. Not withstanding the horror in the fact that it must have been traumatizing for the kid, it's also the storyline that first brought Vickie Guerrero to our screens. THANKS EDDIE! During this time, Eddie somewhere said the line, "I'm Your Papi!" to Dominick and for some reason it was deemed catchy enough to appear on a t-shirt. This led to a lot of wrestling fans now sporting a ridiculous out of context shirt, which only featured Eddie's name in much smaller letters on the back. Eddie died a few months later in 2005, which unfortunately made this t-shirt the last piece of Eddie Guerrero merchandise available before he tragically passed. Understandably this helped sales at a time when fans were desperate to pay tribute to their hero. Thankfully, WWE released an official tribute t-shirt quickly enough to save everyone the embarrassment of having to wear, "I'm Your Papi" on their chest. All proceeds from t-shirt sales went to the continuing psychological evaluation of Dominick "Mysterio." He is said to have accepted that Rey is in actual fact his real father, but still hasn't come to terms with the fact that his dad doesn't even take his mask off when spending time at home.
