Now to be fair to the WWE, just like with Kai En Tai, this gimmick wasn't initially the company's painful idea. They just recognised the success and potential of the tag team on National Wrestling Alliance; McMahon then signed the pair and endorsed the Samoan gimmick. The pair were incredibly slow, they seemed to have barely evolved from the caveman generation, looking exceptionally lost and bewildered in promos; whilst their manager, Capt. Lou Albano, would talk trash on their behalf. They were also shown to be socially unaware, by eating raw fish through interviews and picking their nose from time to time. The pair had great success in the WWE, winning multiple World Tag Team Championships and were also inducted into the Hall Of Fame in 2007. At least the Samoan stereotype has appeared to die down in recent years; Roman Reigns seems to have stayed clear of silly gimmicks at least.
