6. Stables With More Than Three People?
From @travismarttila: Why does WWE seem to be reluctant to establish stables with more than 3 people? They ruined Nexus. Are they shying away from Attitude Era and nWo?
I think you nailed it when you mentioned The Nexus. That stable originally had eight members, but it was really all about Wade Barrett with Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater getting some attention too. The problem with the rest of them was they barely got any screen time. Barrett did the talking, he was the leader and everybody else came off looking like a loser. If you're going to do a stable, everybody needs to benefit from it. When looking at The Shield and the Wyatt Family, they only have three guys in each because that's all they need. There really is no reason to add more people to the group because if you do that you're going to have a tough time pushing them all at the same level. Like you mentioned, it's a numbers game. The NWO had way too many members in it by the end. At the start it was great. They just kept adding to it and it lost its appeal. Booking a stable isn't easy, but if everybody in the group has a purpose then it does work a lot better.
