WWE: 10 Reasons Antonio Cesaro Is The Most Underrated Wrestler Today
3. Indie Credentials
Antonio's indie credentials are impeccable. Having had stints in Chikara, Ring of Honour, and Pro Wrestling Guerilla no one could question that Antonio Cesaro has paid his dues. The WWE doesn't like to admit it regularly but a lot of their premier talent has come through the independent wrestling circuit, rather than just their own developmental systems. Daniel Bryan, CM Punk and two thirds of the Shield (Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins) were indie wrestling superstars. Travelling town to town and plying their trade all over America and beyond. Having an extensive background in indie wrestling doesn't mean you are a great wrestler, but it does mean you've had a wealth of experience. Cesaro has had a terrific career in the independents, learning to perfect his craft in front of live audiences. The indies have taught Cesaro the art of the live crowd, how to win them round and play on their emotions. It also allowed him to play different roles, his small stint as Swiss Chocolate Ice Cream (in Los Ice Creams) shows that Cesaro can take a more playful role in the WWE. He's also done repeated tours of Japan with Pro-Wrestling Noah. Japan is seen as a rite of passage for many wrestlers, allowing them to learn a completely new an unique style of wrestling. This wealth of experience outside of the WWE mean Cesaro is one of the most well rounded competitors on the current roster.
