WWE: 10 Reasons A Live Smackdown Will Be Infinitely More Interesting

10. Unpredictability

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Ms0DFxpptk Part of the reason Raw is so well received is because of the unpredictability of a live broadcast. Whereas with Smackdown, a taped telecast, a viewer already knows what is being seen is scripted. One of the best moments in Raw's history was CM Punk's now legendary pipe bomb. This segment seemed so real that it justifiably made viewers question if what they were seeing was scripted. Such a moment is not possible with Smackdown as it is currently constructed. WWE loves creating moments that can be used for future video packages and DVD's and Smackdown has a difficult time accomplishing those moments because they don't feel spontaneous. WWE even felt the need to re-create an earlier Smackdown trademark, the collapsing ring spot. The second segment happened on WWE's pay-per-view Vengeance, but this time with Mark Henry replacing Brock Lesnar.
