WWE: 10 Reasons Ryback Is Right To Be Frustrated

9. Bad Bookings = Pay-Per-View Losing Streak

Ryback The hype surrounding Ryback's debut was immense and fans were genuinely excited to see the big man debut on Monday Night Raw or Friday Night Smackdown. He eventually made his debut on SmackDown with new attire and a beard and the Skip Sheffield character was repackaged as Ryback once more. He then went on a crazy winning streak where he continued to squash jobbers week after week. He then stepped it up a notch by taking on some of the more well-known superstars, defeating Heath Slater, Camacho, Derrick Bateman, Tyler Reks, Curt Hawkins and even defeated Hawkins and Reks in the same match at his first pay-per-view event at Money in the Bank in 2012; from then it all went downhill. Although Ryback was in some big name feuds in the months which followed, it is difficult to understand why Ryback failed to win a single pay-per-view match over the next year, and even more difficult to understand why the WWE continued to book him in such a terrible manner when the opportunities at the time were endless. Ryback won his first ever pay-per-view match against the team of Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks and since then he did not win a single match over the next year, none. He challenged the likes of CM Punk for the WWE Championship, The SHIELD in a six man tag team match at the Elimination Chamber and even John Cena at the Payback event but he lost every single one of those matches. The next pay-per-view match in which Ryback picked up a victory in was against Chris Jericho; a whole year after picking up his first pay-per-view victory. The WWE made some bad decisions regarding his booking, some of his feuds just ended too early, some of his feuds lasted a very short amount of time such as his feud with Mark Henry. And quite frankly, some feuds were downright terrible, such as his short feud with Chris Jericho. You have to just sit back and wonder what exactly the creative were thinking when booking Ryback to lose all of these matches, what was the point? What did they hope to achieve by having one of their biggest talents at the time losing match after match at every pay-per-view. You have to sympathise with Ryback and he does have every right to be frustrated over the terrible booking he has suffered from during his time with the company.
