6. Stables
I've already spoken about the Wyatts and the Shield, but stables as a whole make the tag division far more interesting. Wyatts and Shield have invigorated the division. The Real Americans are putting on great matches, have a catchphrase that fans love, and a good mouthpiece in Zeb Colter. One reason stables exist is to help individuals hide their deficiencies. Colter does it where Swagger and Cesaro (to a lesser extent) are not top quality on the mic. The same applies to Bray in the Wyatt Family. Some wrestlers are very green in the ring. Erick Rowan and Roman Reigns are good examples of this. Each has partners and stable-mates who cover for this by providing the in-ring expertise which allows Rowan and Reigns to develop in a competitive, big-stage environment. In this way individuals who struggle to get over with the fans can work on their deficiencies to become the full package. Also, let's not forget that stables are fun to watch! Some of the most entertaining moments in history come from stables like the Four Horsemen, DX, Evolution, the Brood, the Ministry of Darkness, Evolution, Straight Edge Society, Nexus... the list goes on. I love a good stable - they can be done poorly (New Nexus, Corre, 3MB, whatever the hell Khali/Hornswoggle/Natalya was) but in general really add to the product if used properly. Now that we have real stables being built up over time, engaging in storylines and putting on superb matches, this is aiding the tag division and making it relevant again.
