WWE: 10 Reasons Tag Team Wrestling Just Got Great Again

5. NXT

WWE's developmental TV show has been a huge addition to the development of their superstars. Instead of wrestling off TV in gyms wrestlers get a regular opportunity to showcase talents, try out new gimmicks and ideas, and improve their in-ring and mic work in a safe but competitive environment before debuting on the major shows. Take Shield and Wyatts as examples. They ruled the NXT yard before debuting on the main roster, and had opportunities to explore their gimmicks and chemistry together on screen week-in, week-out. Regular TV time on NXT makes for far more organic tag teams and stables when they eventually make it onto the main roster if they've been teaming together for some time. It's clear that Triple H and the writers are putting a lot of effort into building a sustainable tag division, and NXT will play a big part in the tag teams of the future. It's no coincidence that the Shield and Wyatts have been such successes after teaming regularly and developing together on this show.
