5. Constant Recaps
You're watching your favourite wresting programme on a Monday night, you're enjoying yourself, maybe youve got a cool beer, looking forward to seeing Punk deliver a superb promo or to catch a glimpse of AJs perk behind when your enjoyment gets taken away by all the recaps. Recaps of events youve witnessed merely 5 minutes ago. It seems that WWE want everyone to really digest whats happened moments ago. The announcers could mention it so as not to distract from the segment being shown live but instead they roll a video replay. Now this should only be used for some seriously dramatic reasons, say, if a storyline has taken a dramatic twist or controversial finish in the previous match. Dont replay everything that happened before the break. You dont see other TV shows coming back from the break recapping what happened prior to the adverts. Only in wrestling do we see it. It really reeks of laziness. Surely you could give the 10 minutes or so of a 3-hour RAW spent back tracking with something more worthwhile. If someone missed what happened then tough, next week theyll have to watch the entire thing or try to find it on WWE.com. Let's not forget Smackdown as the king of What happened on other shows. The majority of Smackdown recaps events that took place on RAW rather than showcasing talent that most definitely need and deserve it. If people are watching Smackdown, then its a dam good assumption they watched RAW, the number 1 show. There is so much TV time that WWE has over a weekly period and so much of it is used to show the audience stuff theyve already seen. Use this extra time to further the storylines and promote new talents that will one day make you the money!
